We are a small academy and unlike huge language schools, with us you can focus exactly on what you need from your language learning journey.

We offer tailor-made English lessons that tackle areas you want to improve, allowing you to talk about the things that interest you. We are passionate about teaching and passionate about the English language and we ourselves never stop learning -

We use a combination of course books, tailor-made course-specific presentations, online exercises and lesson plans as well as authentic materials such as news reports, videos, tik-toks, interviews, articles, songs, memes, etc.

We offer a variety of classes, so we are sure you will find exactly what you are looking for - whether it is practising your language in topic-led conversations with others, preparing for an exam, updating your CV and preparing for a job interview, improving you general level of English, looking for language advice on writing official papers, finding out more about British culture, making sure that your child gets a head start while having fun and that your teenager is up to date with their school work, discovering funny English idioms and how to use them in real life or even looking for English film and book recommendations. Hi, we're Matthew and Maja Lawson.

We have over 16 years of English teaching experience between us, in the classroom and online.

We are both Cambridge CELTA-qualified professionals and have experience teaching all ages and language levels - grammar, conversation, exam preparation, academic written work, presentation or job interviews preparation, fun and games... you name it, we've taught it!

We met while we were both teaching at a prestigious English academy in Spain and these days we both teach online from our home here in the UK, a little seaside town about 40km north of Liverpool.

We both love travelling and learning about new cultures - we are grateful that our profession helps us to do this every day, without leaving home!

We both have a true passion for the English language and that passion means that we do more than just teach grammar or syntax or mark homework - we train our students in how to use English in the most appropriate and natural way - how we really speak to each other and why we use the language that we do.

Maja Lawson

I am an outgoing, passionate and communicative Cambridge CELTA-qualified English teacher with many years of online and classroom experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Studies. I have worked with all levels and age groups, different learning styles and exam formats as well as in different roles (Director of Studies, Senior Teacher and EFL Teacher, Project Facilitator), settings (language schools, junior programmes, summer camps, in-company classes etc.) and with people from various backgrounds.

Many years of experience teaching at reputable, well-established language schools and organisations in different countries as well as working at summer programmes in different roles and being a self-employed ESL Teacher have helped not only in boosting the effectiveness of my teaching and lesson planning but also in mastering my organisational, interpersonal, communication and management skills.

Born in Poland, having lived in the UK for most of my adult life and having taught in different countries, has given me a unique insight into the challenges that students face during the learning process and how to overcome them. Combining these experiences with the nature of my university studies has created a curious, open-minded professional who can embrace cross-cultural learning, is eager to provide engaging education through sharing and create fun, personalised learning experiences catered to students’ individual needs.

In my lessons I use a variety of methods best adapted to students' expectations, goals and pace. My aim is to make the classes interesting and engaging - so I use topics that are of interest to my students and games that make it easier to remember and more exciting to learn. At the same time, however, I put a lot of importance on structuring my lessons and including detailed explanations of grammar points. As well as traditional textbooks, I use interactive and authentic resources such as videos, news reports, magazines or talks and choose materials that will suit students' abilities best. In my classes I use total immersion technique - it means that from day one I communicate with my students in English only.

I am a sociable soul - I love meeting new people and finding out about their interests and culture. I absolutely love travelling (mainly virtually at the moment!). I am interested in art, literature, theatre, cinema and all aspects of culture - and I enjoy including these elements in my lessons.

I am always looking to expand my knowledge and abilities, be that in professional or private life.

Matt Lawson

I'm a native English teacher, born and raised in the UK. I am CELTA-qualified and have nearly seven years' teaching experience in the classroom and online. I have taught in different countries (the UK , Spain and Poland.

I base my methodology on the exclusive use of English from the first day, adapting at all times to the level of the student. I use resources from all kinds of visual and audio media for my lessons and I enjoy providing a range of classes – grammar, vocabulary, exam preparation, English aimed at specific fields of work or study (engineering, science, design, etc.) and, of course, conversation classes!

As well as holding a CELTA teaching qualification, I hold a degree in Theatre, an HND in Performing Arts and an A-level in English Literature – I love my language and one of my strengths is being able to train students how to use English in the most appropriate way; how we natives speak to each other and when and why we use the language that we do.

In addition to English, I speak a small amount of Spanish - I know how challenging it might be to learn a foreign language!

I really like traveling, music, documentaries, history, literature, learning new things about the world and having interesting conversations…but above all, my great passion is are teaching English!

I conduct online classes via the Zoom platform but for one-to-one lessons I can also use Skype.
